I've never seen or heard of that one before Brian. Thanks for posting the info and picture on that one. Interesting to note that it actually managed to fly. I know that the Germans built something similar to that late in WW2 based on a VW but I don't know how successful it was and wheather it pre dates the Jeep version or not.

Fond memories Alf. I never got to the "Button", I wasn't brave enough but I did venture up as far as the last spar which was known as the "Cross Trees". I'll never forget climbing that mast as long as I live. It was hard work and when you're up there it looks a lot higher than it is but as I say, It's an experience I shall never forget.
"The Mast" (It had a preservation order applied in 1976) still exists, though it is in a terrible state of repair and the campaign to have it taken down and re-erected in Portsmouth is being led by a chap from Castle Bromwich. Interestingly, that piece of film was also filmed by a Brummie.

Coldstream Guards Corps of Drums look and sound brilliant even in combat dress
The spin wheel at the end is unreal

I enjoyed watching that Frothy. Fotunately "The Wheel" is a manoeuvre I never had to attempt. I've watched it so many times and I still can't figure out how they do it.

I guess I'm a little bias but I think the Band of the Royal Marines is without doubt the best military band in the world.
This is one of my favourite performances on You Tube at present!

Glad you enjoyed it chocks.
Great free entertainment for the passers by. I've passed that place a few times, wished I'd seen it.
