These pics were posted on facebook, but I think they look better on here. Pic #5 is Maxstoke station.

Before you start in the Water Orton thread I'd like to answer a few points on the above pic's Mr T.

Firstly, I don't think pic 1 in post #34 is Coleshill or Water Orton. There is a tram line in it and if you look to the bottom right of the photo you can see the tram. Neither Coleshill or Water Orton ever had trams running through them.

If you take the second picture in post #34 and put it next to your picture of the Digby Pub in post #35 you will see that they are one and the same building.

The other pub in Old Church Lane is the Dog. That part of the pub is still there but that and of the lane is long gone.

Hope that explains it mate. Great pics bye the way.

Comparing the pics of the Digby, its obvious there as been major alterations, question is which is the oldest version?

Its ok, I have just answered my own question. I looked on street view and obviously the first pic is the oldest.

Had a pleasant walk down by the river today. Loads of fish, some big ones too.

Did you know?
That Sir William Dugdale, whose family homes are Blyth Hall, Coleshill and Merevale Hall, Atherstone is the uncle of Prime Minister David Cameron. Sir William Dugdales wife is the sister of David Camerons mother. (just in case it comes up in a pub quiz) Pic 1 merevale hall, pic 2 blyth hall
