I was wrong.St. Clements church was on the corner of Nechells Park road and Stuart street, further up past the Baths

They were hard times back then, had to work all hours, no holiday pay, no sick pay, no pension, a war to come, no rights, I could go on. I would'nt like to have lived then, but there is something about those photos that make you want to be there.

froth i just found that out as well...just for yer info st clements vicarage was on the ground where the nursing home now stands..

Great photos of Nechells Green Frothy, never seen either before.
The first one shows The Beehive pub on the right, corner of Bloomsbury St. and Nechells Place, my dad's local.
Facing is Nechells Park Rd.
Second one is looking from Rocky Lane,Beehive straight in front.
Spent many a day there in the early 40's.
